The Government of Canada and the City of Quinte West invest in transitioning to a full fleet of zero emission vehicles
Through this investment, the City of Quinte West and Quinte Transit will complete the necessary planning required to transition to a full fleet of zero-emission vehicles, including an evaluation of the economic, technological, and environmental aspects of deploying zero-emission public transit vehicles.
Federal funding will help Burlington move towards electric buses
The federal government is working closely with cities and industry partners to support a green transition to zero emission buses. Together, we will address our common climate goals. The program will match Burlington with London as the first partners in the Canadian Urban Transit Zero Emission Bus Joint Procurement Initiative (CUTZEB) meant to assist with the costs associated with the transition.

The Government of Canada and CUTRIC are supporting TransLink to develop a plan to transition to zero emissions vehicles
Today, Minister Harjit S. Sajjan, Kevin Quinn, CEO of TransLink, and Josipa Petrunić, President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC), announced a combined investment of $1.3 million for TransLink to plan the transition of its bus fleet to zero emission vehicles by 2040. The combined investment of $188,116 for the development of a plan to transition to a fleet of zero emission public transit buses in Sarnia, is being undertaken by the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC).
