Industry

(Private) Industry Members can engage directly in commercial project development and business development efforts with CUTRIC’s senior staff, including project managers and the CEO to design cutting-edge integration trials that support Canadian job growth, and which support the achievement of low-carbon or smart mobility goals across Canadian cities. This engagement includes enlisting the support of the CUTRIC consortium in identifying, seeking, bidding for and sometimes lobbying for funding to support the given project(s).

(Private) Industry Members can also engage in CUTRIC’s Innovation P3© efforts, as well as strategic planning around the innovative financing of e-buses, fuel cell e-buses, and smart vehicles – as well as the systems-wide infrastructure implied by those mobility modes – in the future. Members that wish to support IP development or obtain sales of products or services within a given project will be classified as traditional “Industry” partners.

Specific Benefits include:

  • Participation in all CUTRIC commercialization project planning sessions to support the technical definition, refinement and realistic assessment of industry-led, city-oriented commercialization project development in low-carbon smart mobility, specifically battery electric bus and energy systems, hydrogen fuel cell electric bus and energy systems, and smart shuttles (i.e. autonomous and connected vehicle) systems for first kilometre/last kilometre solutions
    • Access to potential sales through participation in national commercialization projects in which the industry partner (or manufacturer) plays a supporting role in providing in-kind contributions to transit agencies or cities in exchange for the technical demonstration, integration and deployment of specific products or solutions
  • Development of novel business plans in the form of Innovation P3© models which detail a strategy for asset acquisition, operations and maintenance as well as financing (with possible design and build components) to support upfront capital investments and long-term operations of low carbon smart-mobility commercialization and deployments projects nationwide
    • Engagement within the technical development of Innovation P3© partnerships as part of CUTRIC’s consortium to build early relationships with transit agencies and municipalities who are potential clientele in the future
  • Receipt of up-to-date and dynamic education on new technologies in low-carbon smart mobility emanating from competitive vendors or potential new suppliers within the national and North American eco-system
  • Access to cutting edge CUTRIC Technical Reports, including CUTRIC’s annual CUTRIC White Paper Series on electric bus, hydrogen fuel cell bus and connected and autonomous shuttle technologies (Volume 1, 2019-2020)
  • Access to data collection-focused e-bus, H2 bus, and smart vehicle Steering Committees allied to CUTRIC commercialization projects as “Observers” under Non-Disclosure and special IP Agreements with CUTRIC project partners
  • Receipt of Letters of Support from CUTRIC’s CEO to support Member-led bids, projects and funding proposals
  • Access to CUTRIC’s lucrative Membership Directory with detailed Member Designate contact information for the whole CUTRIC consortium
  • Access to strategic insights into the ongoing research and IP outputs emanating from CUTRIC-funded e-bus, H2-bus and smart vehicle research at more than two dozen universities and colleges across Canada, as captured in CUTRIC’s National Academic Advisory Committees (NAACs) for e-bus, H2-bus and smart vehicle research
  • Access to introductions to specific transit agency Member Designates to support industry outreach and information campaigns to inform transit Members of new technologies and solutions offered by Industry Members
