Dear Minister Smith,
On behalf of the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC), I am writing to urge the Government of Ontario to move forward expeditiously with a robust hydrogen strategy that lays the foundation for a cutting-edge and dynamic hydrogen economy across the province with a particular focus on transit and public mobility heavy-duty applications, which are ready to deploy today.

CUTRIC welcomes the Government of Canada’s Budget 2021 focused on protecting the health of Canadians while harnessing the COVID-19 recovery to create jobs and economic growth, more inclusive communities and an improved environment.

ADOPTION OF BILL 44: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR TRANSPORTATION ELECTRIFICATION IN QUEBEC
Montreal, October 22, 2020 – This week, the government of Quebec adopted Bill 44, an Act primarily aimed at effective governance in the fight against climate change and promoting electrification. The Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) considers that this law establishes the necessary foundations for Quebec in terms of transit electrification in anticipation of the unveiling of the Green Economy Plan (GEP) by the Minister of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change, Benoit Charrette.

Le Consortium de recherche et d’innovation en transport urbain au Canada (CRITUC) considère que cette loi établit les bases nécessaires pour le Québec en matière d’électrification des transports en prévision du dévoilement du Plan pour une économie verte (PEV) du ministre de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, Benoit Charrette.
