deCarbonify™ has been built over two years of co-development with the Ontario Public Transit Association (OPTA); it provides transit agencies with relative measures of GHG emissions and scoring (compared to other transit agencies) based on emissions per service area density unit, per revenue and non-revenue kilometres driven, per ridership unit (person or trip), and per vehicle type. This allows small systems, such as Oakville Transit, to compare themselves to large systems, such as Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), in an apples-to-apples manner based on relative and dynamic metrics, rather than static GHG emissions measures that do not take fleet size, service area or revenue/non-revenue kms into account.
