Major Projects: Stakeholder Outreach & Funding Lead (Part-time)

The Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) is hiring for an interdisciplinary role that requires multiple skills sets, including a dynamic and creative mind, leadership capabilities, and a go-getter attitude combined with a sense of responsibility, accountability and transparency.

This position reports conjointly to Project Manager: E-Bus and E-Coach & Project Manager: ZEB Simulation and Commercialization.

Location

This position will be located at CUTRIC’s head office in Toronto, Ontario (1 Yonge Street, Toronto) or remotely within Ontario.

Schedule & Time Frame

This position is a part-time employment role requiring three days in office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. 

The position requires attendance from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, typically; exact hours may vary from time to time depending upon funding proposal deadlines for submissions. Variations to these days and hours will be determined by the employee and management in advance of alterations to the schedule.

This position is designed to be a six-month employment position with extension of the position dependent upon a performance evaluation and concomitant ability of CUTRIC to extend the position.

Responsibilities

The Major Projects: Stakeholder Outreach & Funding Lead will be responsible for completing the following tasks:

  1. Preparing a Fedev Ontario (federal) funding submission  
    1. Supporting the Project Manager: EBus & ECoach in  preparing a final (preliminary) application submission to Fedev Ontario for CUTRIC’s proposed ACES Big Data Trust initiative (transit and shared mobility data integration platform).

  2. Preparing an Unsolicited Proposal for CUTRIC’s “Innovation P3” initiative in Ontario, Manitoba
    1. Supporting the Project Manager: EBus & ECoach and Project Manager: ZEB Simulation & Commercialization in preparing a draft proposal for an Unsolicited Proposal allied to CUTRIC’s battery electric bus (BEB) & hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) integration projects in partnership with transit agencies in Ontario and Manitoba.

  3. Preparing a Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) Stream 5 funding submission  
    1. Supporting the Project Manager: EBus & ECoach in  preparing a draft proposal to the federal Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) Stream 5 for CUTRIC’s proposed Smart Vehicle Demonstration & Integration Trial for first kilometre/last kilometre solutions and/or ACES Big Data Trust initiative (transit and shared mobility data integration platform).

  4. Preparing a Green Municipal Fund submission  
    1. Supporting the Project Manager: ZEB Simulation & Commercialization in preparing a draft proposal to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM’s) Green Municipal Fund for data analytics work to be completed on behalf of and in support of transit agencies engaged in utilizing CUTRIC’s RoutΣ.i™ [https://cutric-crituc.org/consulting/route-i/] simulation tool to simulate or analyze BEB and FCEB performance.

General Skills Sought

This role requires a range of skills sets, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Project management skills, including skills allied to project scope development, task timelines and Gantt Chart development, stakeholder engagement, documentation and milestone delivery reporting.
  2. Clear and professional writing skills (English).
  3. Pro-activism in solution finding.
  4. Transparency in communications with team members and stakeholders.
  5. Team-oriented mindset.
  6. Punctuality.
  7. Professionalism in all aspects of work.

Education and Experience Required or Preferred

  1. Master’s level or higher degree.
    1. CUTRIC is looking for applicants who have already completed their degrees or who will have completed their degrees by the time they start working for our organization.
  2. Project management certification or proof of project management experience.
  3. Evidence of experience writing proposals for funding, ideally with industry stakeholders.
  4. At least two years of combined industry experience outside of academic life.

Salary Range

$65,000 – $70,000 pro-rated to part-time hours.
